Od 2009 roku FIFA przyznaje Nagrodę Puskasa za najpiękniejszego gola w danym roku kalendarzowym. Teoretycznie szansę ma każdy zawodnik świata, w praktyce jednak przeważnie sięgają po nią piłkarze powszechnie znani – jeśli nie międzynarodowo, to przynajmniej w swoich zawodowych ligach. Wyjątkiem, co podkreślił portal ESPN, był w 2022 roku nasz ampfutbolowiec Marcin Oleksy. Duńska firma sportowo-technologiczna Veo postanowiła wypełnić tę lukę i stworzyła Nagrodę Ludowego Puskasa. Właśnie wyłoniono finałową ósemkę.

Warunek jest jeden: ma to być gol meczowy uchwycony kamerą. Nie ma znaczenia, czy chodzi o bardzo niską ligę czy rozgrywki totalnie amatorskie.
W tej edycji zgłoszono ponad dwa tysiące bramek. Po długich analizach wyselekcjonowano setkę trafień, które poddano publicznemu głosowaniu. Z niego wyłoniło się osiem goli (jeden autorstwa kobiety), które mogą otrzymać nagrodę za 2024 rok. Dominują nagrania z Anglii, ale mamy też Francję, Hiszpanię, Kanadę i Kenię.
Nie brakuje tu istnych cudeniek. Nasz faworyt? Nr 2 lub 4, choć ósemka też wspaniała.
